Orlando is famous for being the capital of the world for theme parks. Visitors to the parks, both young and young at heart, can enjoy the world of some of their favourite Disney characters or also take the opportunity to immerse themselves in the their favourite movies on themed rides. There is no shortage of different parks you can visit in Orlando and here is a guide to some of the best parks and what you can expect.

Walt Disney World

The Walt Disney World resort is actually made up of four different theme parks – Epcot, Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom and Disney’s Hollywood Studios. You can buy tickets to enter all four of the parks at any of the ticket booths or online and this will mean you can spend a week exploring what each park has to offer.

The most popular of the four parks is the Magic Kingdom Park where you can explore seven different sections. With plenty of rides and interactive games for the kids to enjoy, you will never get bored in the park. There are also some amazing firework shows and parades that take place during the evening time for you to enjoy.

At Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you can explore different parts of the world all in the same park. Take a safari through the plains of Africa, raft down the Amazon or ride a runaway train through Mount Everest. All of the animals in the park are real and there around 1,500 animals housed here, representing about 250 different species.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios is the park to see if you want to revisit some of the most well-known movies from your childhood. The last of the parks that make up Disney World is Epcot. When you have finished exploring this enormous park you will wonder how they managed to fit it all into the 305 acre site. Inside, you will find an aquarium, 11 pavilions showcasing nations of the world, a 1.3 mile long promenade around the World Showcase Lagoon and plenty of great attractions such as the iconic Spaceship Earth.

Universal Studios

At Universal Studios you will find plenty of rides themed from your favourite films. There are some of the older classics such as E.T and Terminator while also having rides with some of the newer characters such as Shrek and Despicable Me.

The home of the world’s most famous killer whale, Shamu, SeaWorld gives you the chance to get up close and personal with a massive variety of aquatic species. Some of the animals housed here include penguins, beluga whales, dolphins and seals while there are also plenty of opportunities to get to see shows and feeding sessions.

SeaWorld also has plenty of rides should you feel like giving yourself a thrill, however be warned that you will leave some of the rides in the park very wet so bring a towel and a change of clothes.
